Houston Photographer – Client Appreciation

I don’t share a lot of personal thoughts on here, but the Super Bowl is on (I am not a sports girl) and I had some things that popped into my head that I had to write about right NOW. It is the beginning of the year and I am in the process of reviewing and revamping a few things in my business. While I am thinking about this, I am thinking about my clients, the ones that trust me and allow me to keep doing what I love. I am thinking about what they say they loved about their experience and how I can make their experience even better going forward.

Short back-story…
I waited tables for some years in college. I think everyone should have that job at some point in their lives because it teaches you service to others and what it means to really work hard, but it can be a tough industry. You can meet some amazing people, but also some that will make you run to the bathroom crying (literally, this happened more than once). I swore I would never work in the service industry again after I graduated. And now, I am working in one of the most amazing service industries there is, living my dream preserving memories for others. The difference? My clients. I am doing something I enjoy, but it’s making my clients happy that keeps me going. I am going to share a few nice things clients have said to me about their sessions, because I have really AWESOME clients. Seriously. I have received so many kind words from people over the years, but these are just a few from recent sessions.

From Allyn:
Thank you so much! These turned out great, so cute, just beautiful, exactly what I was hoping for! I can’t believe she has already changed so much since the photos were taken, which makes me even happier that we did this right in the beginning.

From Susan after seeing her sneak peek:
Awww! Love it!
Thank you again for everything today. You are so talented and tender (and patient) with the baby. Sorry baby J got you so dirty! Some day she will appreciate your hard work. 🙂 We will look forward to seeing the rest of the pictures. I know they are going to be great.

From Emily:
I can’t breathe. I CANNOT believe you got such amazing shots with my boys. UNBELIEVABLE. They are breathtaking. Literally. I’m just overwhelmed. I know I’m such a drama queen but you are so amazingly talented. I don’t remember seeing either one of them NOT crying Saturday am. I want all of them in 16x20s. Oh wait. House is too small. But I love EVERY SINGLE ONE.

Notes like this just make me SO happy, and I hope all of my clients feel like this after their session. I know you are taking a leap of faith when you hire someone for something as personal as capturing your memories, whether it is your newborn’s first days, milestone baby sessions, or family portraits, and I want to make sure you are happy with your experience. If you have any feedback for me, whether positive reviews or things I can work on, I would love to hear from you!!

Here is a link to a feedback form to make it easy! If you have had a session with me, I would love to be able to add your testimonials to this site, or hear any suggestions you may have! To make it a little more tempting, I will draw a winner to receive a free 11×14 mounted print of your favorite image from our session. The winner will be drawn randomly on Valentine’s Day!

Conroe Newborn Photographer – Behind the Scenes

Here are some behind the scenes of your Conroe newborn photographer at Capture the Dance Photography!  These images were from a newborn session I photographed a few months ago. My friend from Maricruz Photography was kind enough to assist me on this session and she took a few shots of me in action. This session was done on-location in the client’s home in Conroe.

There is something about a newborn session that just gets me in the zone. It is what I love and am passionate about!  Each baby is so different and sometimes it takes a little time to get acquainted and figure out what I can get out of them, what they like, what makes them “tick.” Baby C preferred to be held, but we eventually saw eye to eye. This is of course after he pooped on both of my white shirts, despite the fact that I tried to cover his bum! 😉 Oh a day in the life of a newborn photographer!  It happens sometimes and I am not bothered by it, just a consequence of taking the diaper off! You can see the results of this session HERE.

Are you looking for a Conroe newborn photographer?  We’d love to hear from you!  Contact us today to reserve your spot as our calendar fills up quickly!

It’s ready! The 2013 Session Guide is here with new all-inclusive sessions! Clients will not feel like they have to choose between their images any longer. Each session includes digital files of all the images AND a print credit. I really hope everyone loves the simplicity of it as much as I do. The client guide has a lot of information in one easy-to-read interactive flipbook. It is located under the “Session Info” tab above but I will post it here as well. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions!

Pricing and Policy Changes for 2013

I hope everyone is enjoying some down time after the holidays! Are you excited about 2013? I am! I took a bit of time off in the beginning of last year after my son was born. I was blessed to have a busy second half and now I am focusing on my goals moving forward. This includes pricing and policy changes. I am also in the process of updating my logo and marketing materials, as well as working on an attractive client guide that should explain what to expect when booking a session.

There will be some changes to pricing this year. The prices have remained the same for 2 years so it is definitely time to reevaluate some things to make sure I am sustaining my business and meeting my clients’ needs. The session fee/minimum order model will be going away and replaced by all-inclusive session fees. The entire amount will be due prior to the session and will include ALL of your digital files as well as a print credit. I don’t want my clients to have to choose between their images. I want you to have ALL of your files. I have already created the images and it is a shame to trash them, and you never know which images you might love 10 years from now! It seems that most clients purchase their files anyway so this should be a good thing for most. However I feel like I would be doing a disservice by offering ONLY files. Portraits are meant to be printed. So all packages will include all files and a print credit. Easy peasy.

For the folks that purchase digital files, the regular portrait sessions will not cost more. Newborns will increase some since they require so much more time and the costs are higher for all those adorable props. So if you are considering a newborn session you may want to book now to secure the current pricing. Once I post the new prices all sessions will be booked under the new pricing structure. This will likely be sometime in early February. The new model is simple and straightforward and I think it will really benefit everyone.

I am excited about the changes coming this year and I hope my clients will be too!

Availability Update

I am booked up for this year and I am now booking newborns into March already! I do still have some availability for January, February and March, but please book early if you are considering having newborn portraits done. I have to leave extra room for these little ones. I will be posting a few of my favorite sessions in the meantime. I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!!
